"I filled in for a buddy who couldn't take his
shift at a local club," says Doug Sandler, known affectionately
by his clients as DJ Doug. "I had no I idea what I was doing, but
being a DJ sure sounded like a fun idea. I figured if my friend
could do it, so could I. My first record on the turntables was
a Stevie Wonder tune call Sir Duke. From that point on, I was hooked!"
"I started by making $35 a night in a Club in College Park, Maryland
to making $75 doing my first wedding. That was in 1985 before CD's
became mainstream. I can remember lugging all those records around
in the trunk of my car. Things have really changed."
